A drone’s onboard camera showed the world what it really means when you invade the privacy of a territorial hawk. The red-tailed hawk’s attack caused the nosy drone to crash after realizing that the device was approaching its perch.
The remarkable moment was captured on 27th August 2018. In the footage, the red-tailed hawk collides with the imaging gadget as the owner flies it in his backyard based in Haddonfield, New Jersey.
The bird of prey targets the unappealing intruder, then defiantly swops it down to prove its position as the head of the territory. In return, the camera starts shaking as the drone obeys the law of gravity.

Even though the red-tailed hawk is in the gadget owner's back yard, it hit the 'invasive' drone, causing it to sweep up and down. Then, the hawk flies off with the assurance that there is no intruder in its space.
In the view of the drone operator, the bird of prey staged the attack without giving prior notice and immediately staged a battle with the ‘innocent’ imaging gadget. However, it is still debatable whether the hawk was on the wrong side of the story.
The filmer regrets that while the bird of prey went away without any injury, he was left with his drone scattered into pieces while shearing off the drone's Go Pro frame.
A similar incident was reported in Yorkshire Terrier, Las Vegas, in 2017 when a family was left terrified in their back yard. Red-tailed hawks are historically appreciated for their predatory cues and frequent attacks.
