The fantastic toys of the 1970s were as wild as the fashion and music. The forgotten toys will bring back nostalgic feelings to anyone who played with these classic toys throughout the decade.

Long before there were famous racing video games like Grand Theft Auto or even Pole Position, there was the handheld 1970s ‘Drive Yourself Crazy’ game. Kids could learn their earliest driving skills. Before Nintendo’s handheld ‘Gameboy,’ Mattel offered electronic football and baseball with little blinking lights representing the players.
Another hit toy was ‘Little People.’ These loveable little characters had their own castle and auto garage playsets. ‘Weebles’ were another staple toy of the decade. The egg-shaped toy promised to wobble but not fall down.

Fisher-Price offered a pocket 110 camera with a working flash cube. ‘Wooly Willy’ was a toy that allowed you to pull iron shavings across a man’s face to create different hair and beard styles.
The ‘Astro Ray’ gun used friction to create sparks when you pulled the trigger. And the most incredible art toy was the ‘Super Spirograph.’ Legos were around too, but their designs were much more limited.

Mattel had the ‘Knit Magic’ toy, which was a hit with younger girls. The ‘Lite-Brite’ was a fun toy that allowed users to poke colored pegs into a backlit black paper to make designs.
Every home in the 1970s had a ‘Raggedy Ann and Andy.’ Popular games included ‘Payday,’ ‘Perfection,’ and ‘Simon.’ Who could forget Mattel’s ‘Jack-in-the-Box?’ These forgotten toys of the 1970s will remind many people of their glorious childhood years.
