Seeing dogs stranded out in the cold is always a heartbreaking sight. Wondering how they will get the necessities to survive can cause a lot of pain and sadness.

In Houston, just a day before a big freeze gripped the city, a good samaritan had spotted a group of stray dogs wandering through a gas station parking lot.
Very carefully, she set up ‘traps’ that lured the dogs in so she could take them to a safer place. One dog, in particular, Boomer the Pitbull, caught her eye.

Although it was challenging to catch Boomer, the woman finally had success. After bringing him home, she renamed him Porter and began acclimating him into her home.
Being incredibly nervous, Porter didn’t even want to first set foot inside the door. It took a lot of patience and hard work to finally convince him that he was in a safe place.

Through a lot of work and therapy, the woman could socialize with Porter, and he transformed into a new dog. Jumping with joy when his toy package was delivered—Porter’s life has changed for the better.
After only two months since taking him in, Porter is genuinely opening up. Playing, wagging his tail, and begging for attention, he finally lives the life that every dog deserves.
