When you talk about lions, the first image that crosses your mind is a master hunter trying to hunt animals. Of course, some people also think about the roar of a lion when they talk about the jungle king. But how would you feel if you were told about a lion that could not stay away from his blanket?

Rescued baby lion

Lambert was a lion who couldn't stay away for long from his blanket. But, unfortunately, he started his life as a children's pet. A family in Texas had purchased Lambert illegally. At that time, Lambert was a cub. Soon the family understood that they couldn't afford the lion and decided to donate him to In-Sync Exotics. It was a sanctuary for rescued exotic cats.

Vicky Keahey was the founder of the organization. Soon after Lambert's arrival, Vicky noticed that he would get nervous whenever it rained. This was nothing like any other tiger or lion. So, Vicky tossed him a fresh blanket, and Lambert calmed down immediately. Since then, Lambert could never let go of his blanket.

Lambert has 7,000 sq. ft. of space in the sanctuary. It included a grassy playground with his favorite pool and a covered den for protection and shade. Although Lambert grew up to be a significant and powerful lion, he couldn't get rid of his habit of sleeping with a blanket when he was nervous.

Lambert had developed an evening routine at the sanctuary. Every evening he would return from the playground and throw himself onto a fresh blanket laid out for him. Soon, he would start rolling on the blanket.

Lambert had also learned to fold the blanket over and to put the chicken on the blanket. The staff at the sanctuary has always been charmed by Lambert's playful nature. He would choose any prop and use it as a toy. Unfortunately, he was also caught trying to use the skateboard inside his enclosure.

The adult lion would get meat with a bottle of formula and baby food as part of his diet. Many people wonder if the cats at the sanctuary should be released into the wild. The staff at the refuge would also agree with this fact. However, unfortunately, most of the rescued tigers and lions are either de-fanged or declawed by their previous owners. Thus, they become incapable of surviving in the wild. The sanctuary tries to provide the best possible lives for these big cats and educate the public about ways to protect them.
