Ever been in a situation where a joke goes over your head, and you get it minutes later? In this video, this was the case with Richard Dawson while hosting Family Feud.
More often, contestants give hilarious answers that would leave you wondering the thought process behind the answer given. So, if it’s funny, laugh it off, no questions.
In this episode, Dawson had asked the contestant, Ginny, what would two strangers have a conversation over, and her response was mutual friends. Why is that funny? People have mutual friends.
Well, this was 1985, way before the internet and social media. And we say Ginny foresaw the future of socialization? If she answered that today, it would’ve been a legit answer.
We, however, can’t get over Dawson’s slow burn and how the answer kept eating him up, even after he’d already moved on to the next contestant. Of course, when you’re hosting a TV show, it’s considered a blooper.
Dawson had a more natural way of handling answers that tickled him. He had a slow burn to responses, making them even funnier as time went on. He had to ask for a break as he couldn’t contain himself.
At this point, Ginny was probably unaware of how impossible her answer sounded. We can, however, give her the credit she deserves for giving the man a good joke. Intentionally or unintentionally.
