It is not so difficult to understand the impact of Robin Williams on people because ‘impact’ was the perfect word to describe his comedic style. When he did stand-up comedies, he was known for his rapid-fire jokes and his talent for mimicking various characters and personalities.
Sometimes, he would mimic in a unique accent without stopping to breathe. As a result, he would get drenched in sweat and need several water bottles to quench his thirst after the performance. Once, Jay Leno stated that he thought he was Russian when he first met Robin.
He was a gifted actor who could make the most common and irrelevant things seem funny. In this recent interview, Robin was interviewed by Jay Leno, and the latter laughed hilariously while speaking to the legendary actor and comedian.
He spoke about his stand-up comedy in front of the Royals in England on the Tonight Show. Robin told Leno, “I had once performed in front of the Royal Family or what’s left of them.” The host was excited to hear what Robin would tell them next.
The actor further added, “I once performed for Prince Charles. So he could hear what I was saying before, which was great.” His impromptu jokes about celebrities were unique, and he could use phrases without fear of exaggeration. He had joined the Tonight Show interview to promote his movie “Toys.”
Of course, Robin knew what he was saying while he did stand-up comedies. However, he knew how to play safe and still sounded hilarious. He went along with his improvisation, and the viewers loved his comic style.
The way he took criticisms from the young boy Paul Jones, who joined him on The Tonight Show, showed he had the sportsman spirit in him. He took all the fuss lightly and even made the kid laugh.
