Robin Williams’ last appearance on ‘Johnny Carson’

‘The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson’ was a hotspot for comedians to share their newest material. However, legendary comic Robin Williams was known to throw in plenty of improvisation along the way as well.

Robin comes out to greet Johnny with a rocking chair in his hands. The bottom of the chair is made out of two guitars. Johnny is laughing at the gag, and Robin says, “I brought you a little something! Something from the Elvis Estate.”

Robin sits down and says, ‘I was gonna bring you a VCR, but the stores had none.” Robin starts rambling as usual, filling the air with hilarious improvisation and impressions.

The crowd’s favorite was George Bush, and Robin explained how to do the impersonation to the audience. “The trick is you take John Wayne, and you tighten up his a**,” and his voice goes from regular John Wayne to a higher-pitched Bush in a single sentence.” Johnny loses it.

Later, on the topic of presidents, Robin says, “Oh God, and Clinton. Everyone, basically, Clinton the whole thing about if he slept with different women. It doesn’t matter if he did. I do not care if he slept with a chicken. If he’s got a foreign policy and an economic plan, great. This is a whole other thing.”

Robin continues, saying, “Imagine you have a president, they found out he slept with a sheep and then, ‘How was he?’, ‘Not ba-a-a-ad'” Robin delivers the line impersonating a sheep, and the crowd loves it.

Robin Williams was a superstar in 1992 when he visited Carson. Disney’s ‘Aladdin’ was released that year, becoming one of Robin’s most famous roles. The talented comedian entertained Johnny and his audience with his wildly inventive antics.
