Most people probably weren't aware that Robin Williams and Christopher Reeve were very good friends. The two acting legends shared a bond that could only be admired by most people.
Robbin and Christopher met while in acting school in Juilliard in the 1970s. The two were actually roommates. Even as they both became megastars, their good friendship still stayed intact.
In 1995, Christopher was in a horse-riding accident and became quadriplegic. He fell into a deep depression but his family and close friends were always right there beside him offering him all their support.

During an interview, Christopher Reeve said that Robin Williams came to visit him dressed as a doctor asking the just recently paralyzed Christopher to turn over in a Russian accent.
When Christopher finally got the joke, he couldn't help but laugh at it. Thanks to Robin, he realized that if he could laugh, then he could still continue with his life.
After that, Christopher and his wife Dana went on to form the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation in the year 1999 to cater for and empower people affected by paralysis.
Robin Williams was a man who always managed to put a smile on people’s faces. His presence and lively nature were something many people cherished. He was truly a gem.
