Horses are one of the most beautiful animals in the whole world. Not only are they magnificent to look at, but they are also very intelligent, strong, and gentle. If you have been around horses, you know this to be true. Humans and horses have shared a special bond for a long time, not only for work but for companionship as well. So it is not really surprising to see them getting comfortable around each other.
Take for instance, the video below. Liz Mitten Ryan runs a horse retreat called Equinisity Retreat. Every year, many people visit this beautiful establishment in British Columbia, Canada to experience what it is like to live with the horses. The horses in the facility are accustomed to being around humans.
In this video, we can see some of the horses lying down with people, with their head in someone’s lap or someone’s arm around their neck. These horses are sleeping quite soundly. But they are so comfortable that they don’t mind snoring, but that’s not the funniest part. Some of these horses, well, let’s just say they are a little gassy and when they relax, they just let it all loose!
In some ways, these horse provide as much therapy for the humans as they do companionship. Their gentle nature and genuine interest in humans is comforting and just makes people feel better.
