This video shows how fast a living room can be engulfed in flames due to a holiday accident. Created by the Fire Kills Campaign, this video aims to focus on a single thing and that is that it does not take much time for a disaster to strike. We all love celebrating Christmas and having a Christmas tree is an amazing tradition; however, many people are unaware that a Christmas tree covered with lights inside the home can be dangerous too.
This doesn’t mean that you should stop keeping Christmas tree in your home. This just means that you need to be careful and vigilant during the holiday season, especially if you have lights on your Christmas tree. The National Fire Prevention Association recommends making sure the lights you place on a tree are working in proper order before leaving them on and never leaving them on if you are not home or not in the room. If you are upstairs and the tree is downstairs, turn the lights off and unplug them.
In addition to that, if you have a live Christmas tree, make sure you are watering your tree every day. A dry tree is much more likely to cause a house fire than a properly watered tree. It’s always better to be safe than sorry.
