People often say that chickens are mean creatures and will peck at you for no reason. But whoever said that obviously never met Love Bird. This cute little chicken in the video below has so much love to give!
Six-year-old Mason and his chicken are the best of friends. Mason raised Love Bird since he was just a tiny chick. She came in his life as part of a project in Mason’s nursery school class, and the pair is always together since then.
Love Bird always greets Mason and gives him a hug when he comes home back from school. But after a recent haircut, the family wondered if she would recognize him. So they got out the camera and decided to record the response. This video is no doubt going to melt your heart!
In this clip, Mason is out in the yard with the chickens and roosters, but he only has eyes for the white one. That is Love Bird. She’s pecking around in the yard, as chickens do, and he squats down and doesn’t even say a word.
When Love Bird sees him, she goes right to him, into his arms for a big hug and a pat. She wanders off for a few seconds, and then comes right back and is ready to be held. He doesn’t pick her up. He just stays there, squatting, with his arms around her and her head on his shoulder, for quite a long time. It’s adorable.
