One of the members of the a cappella group ‘Home Free’ has released his own solo music. Austin Brown is a singer and songwriter who contributes to the five vocalists in ‘Home Free.’
Austin performs the tender, heartfelt tune ‘Tears in Heaven,’ by Eric Clapton. He sings it in his backyard with just a piano to accompany this soft ballad filled with emotion.
Austin says regarding the song, ‘It’s special to me. It’s actually one of the first songs I sang in high school.’ He delivers a flawless performance that resonates with viewers and fans.
Typically, Austin performs with his ‘Home Free’ bandmates Adam Rupp, Tim Foust, Adam Chance, and Rob Lundquist. But this time, he takes center stage to show off his impressive vocal skills.
‘Home Free’ won the 4th season of ‘The Sing-Off,’ and ever since then, they’ve found success with their incredible harmonies and arrangements of popular songs. They perform over 200 shows a year when touring!
Their first major label album was titled, ‘Crazy Life,’ released in 2014. Austin has performed with the group for many years, and he also happens to be Michael Jackson’s nephew.
‘Tears in Heaven’ became Eric Clapton’s best-selling single in the U.S. and reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. It won three Grammy Awards for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year. Austin’s rendition honors the original while putting a new spin on the classic song.
