The many years ago we had been constantly told about the devastating impact garbage can on wildlife. There have been a remarkable number of photos and videos that show the horrible reality of animals corner in human trash.
Because it doesn’t break down in sunlight plastic that is discarded into the sea is a real hazard to marine life. They can become caught on it and it can result in terrible pain. The cute little seal pup in this video highlights the need to shift to biodegradable plastics.
Found on Vancouver Island in Canada the seal pup was extremely weak and underweight. Her rescuers believe that she had spent nearly a month incapacitated by the plastic wrapped around her neck. Some 3 months after this seal was released into the wild she is still doing exceptionally well.
