In Canada, a dancing competition that includes many different styles of dancing has existed for many years. Formerly known as the “Lindy Hoppers vs. Street Dancers” competition, the dancers combine influences from many different genres. The clip that we have to show you features footage from the Swing Riot Invitational Battle, which was in Montreal, in 2015. There are swing, funk, soul, and break beats included in the performance, and all the dancers participating make for a true battle of the ages.
The participants all come from very different environments and cultures, and even though they have clear differences in their respective dance styles, they did a performance that’s nothing like you’ve seen before! It’s amazing when you get to see people from different backgrounds and cultures come together and work to make an amazing final piece. The video that we have here featured is a bit long, but if you’re a dancer or dancing enthusiast like us, you will not regret watching until the last second.
