Over and over again, you’ve been told never to judge a book by its cover. Well, it’s true. But even reality show judges sometimes forget this old truth and it seems as though they have to relearn it every week! One lady teaches this very lesson to the judges on the popular reality TV show “The X-Factor.”
Panda Ross is her name and she’s from New Mexico. The judges couldn’t help but scoff when she steps on stage. Simon (one of the judges) asks her name and the conversation goes as follows. “So what’s your name?” “Panda.” “What?” “Panda. Like the bear.” And then Panda explains how she got her name. The judges can’t believe it! As she launches into her number, a judge can even be heard saying, “I can’t get past the name.”
Panda, by the way, is a real trouper. She had only just gotten back from a week in the hospital. Nothing serious, just pneumonia! But that wasn’t stopping her from making her X-Factor audition. Her voice is nothing less than amazing!
Panda belts out her song with power and feeling. The audience is instantly wowed and you will be, too. She even gets a little bit of sweet revenge on Simon.
After Panda’s fantastic performance, we hear nothing but compliments from the judges. Perhaps L. A. puts it best: “I can’t deny how good that was. I can’t deny it. That was really good. I love that song. It was the perfect song choice. And look, you moved this room.” Simon is forced to admit, “Panda, you sound like a legend.” And he’s right!
Fans online love Panda. One fan said (and we agree 100%), “There are some people in the world who can bring joy to you and Panda has that certain spunk. Panda Ross leaves both Britney Spears and Demi Levato in the dust when it comes to talent.”
