Dogs are a loyal bunch and you can tell when a dog is well fed and is taken good care of. A sleek coat, healthy look and a collar with details tells a person that the dog is someone’s cherished pet. So when a tired looking older dog walked into the woman’s yard one day, she patted him on the head, noticing his collar and well fed body.
After a few pats, the dog calmly followed the woman into her house, slowly walked down the hall and found a corner to fall into a deep sleep for one hour. After the hour had passed, the dog got up, went to the door where the woman let him out. She thought she had seen the last of this beautiful dog.
But surprise, surprise. The next day, at nearly the same time she found the dog back in her yard. Quietly, he went to his corner and took an hour long snooze. This behavior continued for several weeks after which the woman got curious. The next time the dog came home for his siesta session, she penned a note and attached it to the dog’s collar.
“I would like to find out who the owner of this wonderful, sweet dog is… and ask if you aware that almost every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.” The next day, when the dog came for his hour nap, she found a different note pinned to his collar. It read, “He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 under the age of 2, he’s trying to catch up on his sleep. Can I come with him tomorrow?”
I was laughing when I saw the last part of the note. Dogs are a huge part of our lives and that is something that we should always remember – that they are as much a part of our family as we want them to be and that you should always take care of your dogs.
