Stunningly Rare Footage Of Young Conway Twitty Performing On National Television

Have you ever wondered what some of the world’s biggest stars looked like when they were young? Though some people we’ve been able to see grow up in the limelight, others either didn’t get famous until later, or started their careers so long ago, footage of their early years is all but lost.

Conway Twitty has been in the country music industry for over 60 years, so some of his earliest performances have been filed away in the archives. We’ve pulled one out, to share this amazing talent with you.

This clip shows Conway Twitty appearing on the Saturday Night Beech-Nut Show in January 1959. Dick Clark hosted the show, and when he announces his next guest you can hear the crowd go absolutely wild. Everyone want to see Twitty!

Twitty enjoyed seeing 55 of his songs reach number one on the charts throughout his career. That kind of feat is difficult to pull off!
