It’s not just about human health on this show, as in a special episode, members of ‘The Doctors’ program focus on the health of our furry, four-legged companions. Man and woman’s best friend – the faithful family pooch.
The love of Dr. Travis’ life is his dog Nala who he rescued from a shelter 20 years ago. Since then, the two have formed an inseparable bond, with Nala regularly appearing on the show – and you’ll see some wonderful memories that have been put together as a surprise for Dr. Travis. At the time of the footage, Nala didn’t have long left to live and the episode focused on how to prepare for the passing of a family pet.
It can be harrowing enough to lose a family member but as more and more people will testify – and not least Dr Travis here – pets are included too. It can be every bit as heartbreaking losing your dog or cat – but there are things you can do to lessen the blow as the doctors discuss in this touching video.
The tribute that Dr. Travis’ colleagues put together will likely have you in tears – as was the man himself – who didn’t realize they were making such a moving film. And it really shows the special bond they both had over the past two decades and the love that Dr. Travis clearly shared with his companion.
He is barely able to contain his emotions as the video draws to a close and he does very well at keeping his composure in front of the studio audience and all the viewers at home. No doubt this episode will resonate in many hearts who know what it’s like to lose the family pet. If only their little lives weren’t as short.
Dr. Travis’ colleagues also open up about losing special animals in their lives, and you might struggle to get through this emotional video – so keep those tissues handy! But Dr. Travis sums it up rather nicely at the end of the segment, by simply and emotionally saying “pets are the best.” Quite frankly, we couldn’t agree more.
