Sweet bears relaxing in the cool water of the swimming hole

The bears at the Orphaned Wildlife Center in New York are given many opportunities to experience life as close to the wild as possible. It is part of the commitment of the center.

The center is dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating orphan animals – mostly bears – and preparing them to return to the life they were always supposed to have, in the wild.

Sometimes, life in the wild means taking a dip in the local swimming pool to cool off or relax. This is exactly what these two young bears, Jenny and Frankie, were doing in this video.

Orphan bears enjoy a lovely swim in cool waters

It is fun to watch the bears enjoying themselves in the cool water of the pool, swimming around with ease, and eventually climbing out to shake off the water before returning for another round.

The camera work in this video is exceptional, giving a clear view of the bears while remaining unobtrusive while they enjoy some time to themselves. And the bears themselves are beautiful.

The Orphaned Wildlife Center is one of the most amazing animal rescue centers in the country, providing opportunities to these bears who would otherwise be left to fend for themselves in their infancy.

Seeing them swimming in the pool and having the chance to grow up in a location that is both wilds in nature but safe and secure while they learn how to return to the wild is a real privilege.
