With a delightful bluegrass twist, the Petersen’s version is led by the eldest sibling, Katie, sitting with little sis, Julianne. The rest of the musical family surround them with beaming smiles.
Initially, the song sounds familiar to the original, with brother Matt playing the guitar to Katie’s singing. As the chorus hits though, you instantly feel upbeat when the bluegrass kicks in.
Their interpretation keeps the nostalgic, country feel of the original but the addition of banjos, fiddles, and other bluegrass instruments make it feel fresh and vibrant. The sister’s harmonies are simply heavenly.
With over 20 million views, this rendition of the classic song is going down a storm. The Petersens have taken a classic and turned it into their own timeless hit.
