Talented Artist Carves a Statue of Wooden Eagles Using a Chainsaw

A man uses a chainsaw to carve a large wooden bird sculpture outdoors.

It is a bright sunny day when a man decides to carve a wooden statue from a tree in his yard. The branches of the tree are cut and its bark has been removed. The man lays out some platforms to stand on so he can reach the top of the tree.

Using a small chainsaw he begins to carve the would with precision. Every now and then he marks the tree with a pencil, making sure he knows which way he should be cutting.

Whenever the chainsaw runs out of fuel he climbs down in order to refill it. This isn’t his first carving, he is obviously practiced and meticulous. Thanks to his hardwood he is often covered in wood shavings from top to bottom.

At the top of the tree, the shape of an eagle becomes clear. He uses the tip of the chainsaw to carve out the smaller details, such as the patterns of the feather and edges of the beak.

In the middle of the tree, he makes another shape of an eagle. He gives it talons and extremely detailed wings. For the finer aspects like the eyes and mouth he uses a hammer and chisel.

He shaves the rest of the tree with the chainsaw and touches up the edges of the eagles with the chisel. The sharpness of the talons and beaks really pop out.

Then he sands the rest of it while blowing out any loose shavings. The light of the sun shows the majestic wooden statue of two eagles perched on a tree.
