Vandila (also known as Van) was ready to downsize and simplify her lifestyle. She found her perfect match in a tiny home model called the Haven, which she nicknamed the “Van Haven.” The home is ideal for her and has a lot of storage, entertainment, and functional spaces.
The living room has an L-shaped sofa that pulls out into a full-size bed for guests and also serves as a place for Van to stream video games. She has a massive television for entertainment and a laptop with three screens for working.
One of the most unique features of Van’s tiny home is her mini-library that lines the windows in her living room. She had difficulty downsizing her book collection, so she incorporated it into her home without taking up too much space.
Her kitchen has full-size appliances for everything except the dishwasher. A farm-style sink is wide enough to fit dirty dishes and wash them. Cabinet space is plentiful and easily holds the pots, pans, and plates. The fridge has a filtered water dispenser for clean water access.
Her bathroom required the most creative storage approach, so she added a shelf above the toilet to add more surface area. The white quartz countertops match the shower for a touch of luxury.
One of Vandila’s favorite aspects of tiny living is the incredible community that she gets to be part of. Her neighborhood gets together to do puzzles together and are all active in each other’s lives. Van looks forward to board game nights with all the residents.
Van’s transition into tiny living has improved almost every aspect of her life. She did not have to deal with a volatile housing market and can live a nomadic lifestyle when she wants to. Additionally, financial freedom gives her more opportunities to travel or explore her city.
