The 1980s! It was a time of neon colors, big hair, and unforgettable tunes. But did you know this decade also had its fair share of unique car designs? Yes, you heard it right! Some cars from the 1980s had styles that, well, let's just say, stood out in their own particular way.

Now, don't get us wrong, the 1980s was a happening decade. We had space shuttles launching into the stars and MTV revolutionizing music. But, when it comes to cars, some designs were, hmm, interesting. Recently, Rhetty for History has this fascinating video clip that takes us through some of these automotive wonders.
Let's start with the Chevrolet Citation. GM answered, "Hey, we can do sleek European hatchbacks, too!" Then, in 1983, the GlenFrome Facet zoomed into the scene. This car was a head-turner for sure, with a design that made people do a double-take. It was like nothing else on the road, crafted by a British company for wealthy clients in the Middle East.

Next up is the 1980 Cadillac Seville. Ah, from the front, it was all Cadillac, but the back? It's a totally different story. It had this tiny trunk that made you wonder, "Where's the rest of it?" And then, there was the 1984 Zimmer Quicksilver.
Just the name makes you think of something sleek and fast, right? And even the chrome design and the long hood made you believe it had a beast of an engine. Well, it was just a regular V6. Moreover, the car cost as much as a Mercedes back then!

Oh, and we can't forget the 1980 Fiat Panda. Its design was, let's say, minimalist. Straight edges, metal, and bumpers that looked like they forgot to paint them. The video clip also showed a bunch of other 1980s cars that didn't quite hit the popularity jackpot, all thanks to their, let's say, unique designs.
