''The Lord's Prayer' Set to Music Is Like a Preview of Heaven'

A group of men in suits stands in a field with mountains and sun in the background.

In a lush field surrounded by rolling hills and tall mountains, Alex Boyé stands alone in the grass. A cool breeze sweeps the land as he walks forward.

He is there to sing ‘Baba Yetu’ by Christopher Tin. It is the Lord’s Prayer in Swahili. Alex looks around him as the sun hangs high in the sky.

The Lord's Prayer'

Looking up towards the heavens, Alex begins to sing. His voice swells, and he gives it his all. Suddenly he is joined by dozens of other singers on the field. They sing along with him.

The other singers are from the BYU Men’s Chorus. Their voices blend perfectly with Alex’s. It is an incredible and fantastic performance, but the surprises aren’t over. Another group joins them on the field.

Appearing on the field next to Alex is a collection of instrumentalists. The Philharmonic Orchestra began to play along with them. Now the area is full of people left and right.

The Lord's Prayer'

Alex walks around, and the BYU Men’s Chorus march right behind him. The voices of many become one, and the sounds of the instruments are spectacular. The Chorus forms a circle with the orchestra and Alex in the center.

As they end their performance, Alex finds himself in the same position. He is alone in the field, and the song fades with his voice as the last thing to be heard.
