The McKinney Sisters Sing Wonderful Bluegrass Version of “Nothing But The Blood”

Originally written by Robert Lowry in 1876, “Nothing But The Blood” is one of the most popular worship songs of all time. When the bluegrass group The McKinny Sisters performed it live, this classic gospel hymn was given a modern twist.

When they took the stage at the Garden Community Church, the three sisters told the congregation that they like to cover old hymns. They do this when they’re trying to get inspired to write original music of their own.

The song starts slowly with one sister leading, as the other two come in for harmonies. Soon enough, the three pick up the pace, and the song gets groovy. With the lively tempo that the banjo brings, you can’t help but tap your feet.

Filled with astounding harmonies, the McKinney Sisters genuinely show that the hard work behind learning an old song pays off. There’s no denying that these ladies are talented. Not only can each of them sing, but all three play an instrument as well.
