The Only Homemade Hot Fudge Recipe You’ll Ever Need

Nothing beats the delicious flavor of hot fudge on a cold scoop of vanilla ice cream. The store-bought fudge can be chalked full of preservatives and artificial flavors. With this easy-to-follow recipe, you can make a custom batch at home.

To do this, you’ll need a few ingredients that you can pick up at any grocery store. Add these things to your shopping list: heavy whipping cream, unsalted butter, light brown sugar, white sugar, sea salt, semi-sweet morsels, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract.

Take a medium saucepan and pour in the cream, butter, brown sugar, salt, and regular sugar. Bring to a simmer on medium to low heat, allowing it to simmer for one minute. Add in morsels and whisk until melted, then remove from heat.

Using a sifter, add in cocoa powder and whisk until smooth. Bring the pan back to low heat and simmer for two minutes, continuing to whisk in the cocoa powder. Remove from heat and add in vanilla extract. Allow to cool and store in a canning jar. This fudge is good to keep in your fridge for up to two months.
