The Petersens sat on the wooden porch as they performed John Denver’s ‘Back Home Again.’ Their band consists of four siblings, their mom and their good friend Emmett Franz.
The four siblings are Matt Petersen, lead vocalist, and guitarist; Katie Petersen, vocalist and violinist; Ellen on vocals and the banjo; and Julianne playing the mandolin. Their mother, Karen, plays the bass.
Emmett Franz plays the dobro, a type of resonator guitar. The six are set up with Matt in the center and his sisters Katie and Ellen beside him. He starts by singing and playing guitar.

Matt’s voice is calming and sweet. Then the rest of the band joined him in creating excellent music. The sounds of the wide variety of instruments work well together.
Under their feet, the grass is lush and green. They all smile as they play and sing. Each instrument gets a chance to be heard and appreciated. All of them are supremely talented.
It is a fantastic collection of instruments and voices that, when brought together, create a song that is uplifting and inspiring. The Petersens know how to achieve true harmony.
The song is about returning home, and their sound is perfect because they are warm and welcoming. They finish their performance with the instruments closing it out.
Remember those days of The Petersens' performance of 'Back Home Again'? It's all over at Amazon if that sounds good to you.
