The Petersen’s bluegrass ‘Mama Mia’ is sensational

With banjos, guitars, fiddles, and mandolin, this bluegrass ABBA cover by the Petersens is sure to raise your spirits.

Branson, Missouri, is deep in bluegrass country and home to the wonderfully talented Petersens. The musical family love covering songs but their version of ‘Mamma Mia’ is an instant hit.

Celebrating their American country roots, the Petersens comprise 4 siblings: Ellen, Katie, Julianne, and Matt, as well as Mom, Karen, and good family friend, Emmet.

Performing outdoors for all to hear, this toe-tapping reimagining of ABBA’s classic hit ‘Mamma Mia’ has guitars, banjos, mandolin, and beautiful harmonies that only siblings can achieve.

Transforming such a well-known pop song into a bluegrass-style is a real challenge, but the Petersens make it look easy. Their family bond is clearly very strong.

Mom looks so proud as the sister’s voices blend to produce a truly special sound. And the best thing is they all seem to love performing, their smiles are beaming.

The video ends with a hilarious outtake as the family sing acapella over the credits and Katie is left confused singing solo as everyone stops. What a charming family!
