The Rib-Tickling Carol Burnett Show 'Dating Game' Skit

A man in a floral vest and headphones smiles at a woman in a pink dress and pearl necklace, both laughing.

The Carol Burnett Show is one of the classic shows of the 60s and the 70s that has still not lost its charm. The cast enacted the best sketch comedy that entertained the audience of all ages. Families would tune in to CBS every Saturday night and watch the variety/comedy show together.

A man in headphones interacts with three women in dresses, one holding a microphone, in a studio setting.

They had something for everyone. Recently, one of the episodes from the Season 6 of The Carol Burnett Show has gained several followers online. The reason is the hilarity of the video clip. Harvey Korman, Tim Conway, and Carol Burnett's chemistry are unbeatable.

The skit begins with Lyle Waggoner, the host of a dating game, & Tim Conway, playing a Turk. The latter plays the role of a set technician and has a discussion about the bachelorette, played by Vicki Lawrence (girl 3), Carol Burnett (girl 2), & a guest star, Kaye Ballard (girl 1).

Two women in vintage outfits sit on a stage, one in purple, the other in pink, smiling and laughing.

Ballard & Burnett makes sure to remove their competition. Lawrence's dress gets torn by Conway, and she has to get off the stage. However, Conway does not run away. Instead of getting out of the situation as fast as possible, he just sits down and drapes the torn dress over his lap.

After the entry of the girls Harvey Korman, the bachelor, enters the dating show. There is a partition between the girls & Korman. So, he is unable to check the faces of the girls. He is given the option to choose his date based on their intellect.

A man in a shiny, patterned suit and sunglasses smiles widely, while another man in a brown suit looks down, both against...

Korman chooses contestant 3, as Conway's response impresses him. However, Korman is unaware that the person he chose is a man. After the selection, when he discovers the reality, the poor bachelor is disheartened but accepts the result.

Online fans have come up with heart-warming messages for their favorite stars. One fan wrote, "Hilarious!!! Thank you, Carol Burnett & Company!!! You always make me laugh!!!" While another person said, "Another funny sketch from a great group!"
