Around the 60s, Carole King and her then husband, Gerry, wrote more than two dozen chart hits for various artists. One of them just happened to be this classic featured right here. The Shirelles on the other hand were founded in 1957 for a talent show at their high school. They have received numerous honors, including the Pioneer Award from the Rhythm and Blues Foundation, as well as getting inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.
