The Supremes’ performance was a part of ‘The Hollywood Palace’ tv variety show in 1965. Similar to ‘The Ed Sullivan Show,’ the broadcast featured up-and-coming superstars in music.

Appearing on stage that evening, Diana Ross, Florence Ballard, and Mary Wilson sang their hit tune with style. The trio was perfectly in sync with their harmonies and dance moves.

The Supremes are one of the most successful female groups of all time. They scored 12 number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100. ‘Stop! In The Name of Love’ was released in 1965 on their 6th album, ‘More Hits by the Supremes.’

The group was initially known as ‘The Primettes’ formed in Detroit in 1959. Their first hit was ‘Where Did Our Love Go?’ They achieved great success and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.
