Number 29 was ‘Going in Circles’ by ‘The Friends of Distinction.’ Number 28 was ‘Baby, I Love You’ by ‘Andy Kim.’ Number 27 was ‘Spinning Wheel’ by ‘Blood, Sweat, and Tears. Number 26 was ‘In The Year 2525’ by ‘Zager and Evans.’ And number 25 was ‘Get Back’ by ‘The Beatles with Billy Preston.’
Jumping to number 20 was the song ‘What Does It Take (To Win Your Love)’ by ‘Jr. Walker & The All Stars.’ It was a hit on both the R&B and pop singles charts. The song made it to the top 5 and number 1 on R&B charts.
Number 19 was ‘Proud Mary’ by ‘Creedence Clearwater Revival’ followed by Elvis at number 18 with ‘Suspicious Minds.’ Marvin Gaye’s song ‘Too Busy Thinking About My Baby’ was a hit at number 14.

Number 2 was ‘Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In’ by ‘The 5th Dimension,’ which was a medley of two songs written for the 1967 musical ‘Hair.’ And the number 1 song of the year in 1969 was ‘Sugar, Sugar’ by ‘The Archies,’ who wasn’t even a real band. The cartoon band had the best song of the year in 1969!
