A training exercise at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, had Air Force personnel drop 8 armored humvees from 5000 feet. No vehicles were harmed in this making of this video.
In an operation performed by US airmen from the 16th Airlift Squadron at Joint Base Charleston in South Carolina, 8 vehicles were first loaded onto a cargo plane, then flown up to 5000 feet before being pushed out into the open air.
Each of the Humvees, or High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles, weighs about 7700 lbs. The vehicles were dropped from a C-17 Globemaster, one of the largest transport planes operated by the Air Force.
