This New Rendition of the 1954 Classic 'Lollipop' Is Sweeter Than Candy on a Stick

Three women in dresses stand on grass near a brick structure, smiling and gesturing.

There is a lovely new rendition of the 1954 Chordettes classic “Lollipop” making the rounds on the internet. It is sung by three young ladies, who might be sisters, singing a beautiful harmony of the classic.

Except that they’re not sisters and there’s only one woman who sang all three parts. In the video, they are standing next to each other, about 6 feet apart on the grass in what looks like a park.

But it quickly becomes apparent that the background lighting is somewhat different in the three sections of the screen, behind each of the ladies.

Amazing rendition of the 1954 classic ‘Lollipop’

You can even see the camera shake a bit in different sections, breaking the continuity that they almost had, were it not for the differences in lighting.

The singer, whose Youtube channel is called Joke Vanhuyse, does a great job of making it look like they’re a trio. They even look like they’re making eye contact in some parts of the performance.

She has a few other videos on her channel, including a cover of the song “Dream” which she performed in a similar way to this one.

While her other videos have gotten some views, this one has gone viral for some reason with over a quarter-million views! Was it her impeccable harmonies or the trick photography that made it happen?
