The average age of an adult is fifteen years higher than it was when I was born. As such the population of the planet has grown and a lot more people live to retirement and reach extreme age.
While medical science has made huge advancements treating extreme age, the truth is that brittle bones, tired joints, and weak immune systems are the norm for these people. This makes it all the more important to ensure that any facility is safe and treats people with the respect they deserve.
This footage was recorded by hidden camera at the Berea Gardens Retirement Foundation Lily Kirchmann home in East London. Hope Shepherd, at 84, moved in as she needed help to live a full happy life. When her family saw what the camera had recorded, they got her out of there as quick as they could.
