Mickey the pug was incredibly ill when he was rescued by the Michigan Humane Society. Mickey was taken to the vet and they found that he was suffering from demodectic mange and glaucoma – which had blinded him. After much consideration the best that they could do was to remove Mickey’s eyes.
Sometime later Mickey was adopted by Sabrina Johnson, the district judge for Inkster, MI. Judge Johnson regularly takes Mickey to work. “I got him from rescue, and he really rescued me,” Johnson says in the video. “He’s just the love of my life.”
When asked about Mickey’s mobility the judge said: “Sometimes when we’re walking in the park, he’ll get going and run into a tree. He simply backs up, shakes it off and keeps moving. He really has taught me about how to live life.”
