This Quick DIY Wall Accent Belongs With Your Farmhouse Decor

“Farmhouse décor and shabby chic styling seems to be almost everywhere right now. Stores are capitalizing on this trend and making a ton of money doing it. Why are people breaking the bank when they can make some simple accents and pieces for their home themselves?

DIY Joy is a YouTube channel specializing in DIY décor and country craft ideas. They focus on presenting easy projects that – most importantly – don’t cost a fortune to make. This specific tutorial is one of the easiest yet.

You only need two things to make this project: a few bandanas and wooden embroidery hoops. The great thing about the bandanas is that you can choose whatever colors or styles match your decor, and they usually are extremely cheap. As far as the embroidery hoops, those can be picked up at your local craft supply store or bought online very cheaply as well.

For the purpose of this tutorial, three bandanas are used and three varying sizes of embroidery hoops. This just gives it a bit of dimension and variety.

Once you have gathered your supplies, start by loosening the screw that holds together the embroidery hoop and remove just the smaller, inner loop for right now. This is the loop you will start working with.

All you have to do is tightly wrap a bandana around the small loop and place the larger, outside loop back on top of it. Make sure the bandana is pulled tight before you tighten the screws. You don’t want wrinkles or saggy spots.

The only thing you have left to do is to trim the excess fabric. With a sharp pair of scissors, cut as close to the backside of the embroidery loops as you can, keeping it flush with the flat side of the back. That is literally all you have to do.

There are so many variations of this that will fit about any décor or theme. You could easily spray paint the wooden embroidery hoops and switch out the bandanas. This is perfect – easy, versatile, and affordable!”
