She Thought It Was an Ordinary Quail Egg -- Until Her Pet Bird Did This! Unbelievable!

A hand holds a small, fluffy, brown and black chick against a red and white patterned background.

Generally eggs sold for commercial consumption are unfertilized. Most chicken eggs are grown without a rooster and are therefore never fertilized. This means no matter how hard you try you will never be able to hatch a baby chicken from a store bought egg.

But in less common birds, farmers grow males and females together and only sell excess eggs. This means that almost all eggs that you buy from rarer species will be fertilized. Quail eggs, goose eggs, and duck eggs are more than likely fertilized eggs when you buy them from store.

When this woman gave a quail egg to her pet parakeet, she never expected what was about to happen. Before too long the egg hatched and she had a baby quail on her hands.
