Remember the "No Frills Airline" sketch from The Carol Burnett Show back in the '70s? It was a riot! Harvey Korman and Tim Conway had me in stitches as they portrayed passengers on a budget airline that took cost-cutting to a whole new level. The sketch opens with Harvey sitting in the regular section, while Tim is stuck in the bare-bones "no frills" section at the back of the plane.
Tim's seat looks mighty uncomfortable, with mismatched fabric and barely any legroom. He tries to make the best of it, joking about how the back of the plane is safer since you never hear about a plane backing into a mountain. Classic Tim Conway humor right there!
The stewardess, played by the lovely Carol Burnett herself, comes around to offer some amenities - for a price, of course. Want to listen to music? That'll be two bucks. Oh, and don't expect any oxygen masks if the cabin pressure drops. You're on your own in the no-frills section!
Lunch is served, but it's not exactly a gourmet meal. Poor Tim has to make do with his own pack of Twinkies. When turbulence hits, things really go haywire in the back of the plane. Let's just say the landing is a bit more eventful for the no-frills folks.
