There’s no denying the hilarious sketch comedy featured in ‘The Carol Burnett Show.’ For eleven seasons containing 278 episodes, the fabulous actors made us laugh. In this clip, Tim Conway plays his classic character ‘The Oldest Man’ as a butcher waiting on Harvey Korman.

The whole thing starts with Tim Conway walking out of a walk-in freezer. The audience is already laughing at Conway because of his slow-paced, tiny steps. Harvey Korman comes in and impatiently tries to order.

Conway makes Harvey take a number. The number he gets is 28, but Conway slowly moves to the number display and clicks it, walks back at a snail’s pace, and yells, “Number 12!” Harvey yells at him to move it along.
After Korman orders some ground round, Conway climbs all the way into the meat case. While in there, he rolls around wrestling with a chicken and a fish. He even takes time to swat a fly! The audience is hysterical.

Conway leaves the case and starts banging into the hanging sausage. Chimes sound as if his head hitting the sausage is causing it. Finally, he makes it over to the grinder, but he can’t seem to get it going. Harvey is losing his mind and decides to help out. After a few cranks, he notices that his tie has gone in the grinder. He asks Conway for help and ends up watching him cut his tie clean off with scissors.
It seems like it can’t get worse for Harvey, but after asking for cheese and struggling to put it in his dress pants, Conway helps again. This time, he rips off Harvey’s pants. Another female customer comes in and screams in horror at the sight.
Conway and Korman play this skit masterfully with great facial expressions and comedic timing. Conway even ends up wrapping himself up in the butcher’s paper, and Harvey is arrested when the female customer returns with the police. It is a funny sketch that proves why everyone loved The Carol Burnett Show and its cast.
