The Carol Burnett Show is a TV variety/comedy show which originally aired during the 60s and 70s. It is still considered one of the best comedy shows ever created. Carol Burnett and her co-actors ensured they introduced new and hilarious sketches that ordinary people enjoyed.
The main lead actors included Tim Conway, Harvey Korman, & Carol Burnett. Recently, one of the sketches on the show had the 2 actors Conway & Korman showcase a documentary series about marine life.
They speak in a French accent. Korman is the host of the Documentary, while Conway is dressed as a scuba diver. He looks funny wearing the swimwear and the gear. His mission is to dive underwater and investigate the giant white Phantom Squid.
As soon as Conway finds out about his next mission, he is nervous and talks to Korman about it. He is a bit scared about the marine life he is about to investigate. However, Korman hilariously hushes him off, saying everything will be alright.
He tells him that the giant squid is around 6 inches big “in their infancy,” which makes the nervous scuba diver more scared. However, this hilarious conversation does not end here. Korman also gives Conway a torch and a squid repellent to protect himself during his dive.
However, he later adds that the torch and the repellent would not help much and might even attract the mighty White Phantom toward him. The confused look on Conway’s face makes the audience laugh instantly.
Korman then ties Conway to a pulley and asks him to go down. However, while doing so, he accidentally falls into the sea and becomes a snack of the squid himself. Meanwhile, Conway finds his way back to the ship and talks to the live audience. Conway talks in a French accent and says, “You have just witnessed man’s struggle with the sea, but this time man lost. But that’s entertainment.”
