Tiny house living was empowering for D’Arcy and his wife Olivia because it was affordable and attainable. They can focus their efforts on growing their businesses instead of paying an expensive mortgage.
D’Arcy owns Acorn Tiny Homes, where he is a full-time tiny home builder. His skills and collaboration with his wife resulted in a gorgeous and unique space for them to raise their son.
Their tiny house is built from a 32’ trailer with a few added bump-outs that reaches 13.5’ tall at its peak. The exterior is a sleek wooden style with black trim to accent.
The star of the tiny home is the full chef-style kitchen that includes a butcher block countertop, oak cabinets, a full-size refrigerator, propane range, and hood fan hidden out of sight.
Another intentional design element was a ladder to the loft that is used as office space. When work is done for the day, the ladder can be moved away from the office, so working in that space is no longer an option.
D’Arcy and Olivia’s tiny house can sleep up to six guests if needed because the space is used so efficiently. Seating options can shift quickly into beds or places for their toddler song to play.
D’Arcy and Olivia love their tiny home and can’t wait for their son to grow up there. D’Arcy says that he made no compromises when building this house. The tiny space is truly perfect for their tiny family!
