US Navy Sailor Sings “O Holy Night” To Soul-Stirring Perfection and Everyone Is In Tears

This spine-tingling version of a Christmas classic everyone knows brings tears to the eyes of everyone listening. The Navy singer belongs to The United States Navy Band. They are one of the most distinguished performance groups in the US Armed Forces, and have been for over 100 years.

The Washington Navy Yard Band performs ‘O Holy Night’ at a Christmas event with a packed auditorium. Their rendition of the song left everyone speechless as their pure harmonies reverberated throughout the entire hall.

“O Holy Night” was composed by Adolphe Adam in 1847 to the French poem “Minuit, chrétiens” (Midnight, Christians) written by a wine merchant and poet, Placide Cappeau (1808–1877).

The US Navy Band was formed in 1916 when 16 members of the USS Kansas band joined the 17 members from the presidential yacht, the Mayflower. They were named the “Washington Navy Yard Band” and spent hours practicing.

Over the years, they have become more popular. They travel all across the country to perform for military events, political events and civilian events, too. This Christmas performance was played to a packed theatre.

Their voices harmonize in this incredible rendition of the traditional Christmas hymn, “O Holy Night”. You can listen in on the powerful version for yourself by playing the video below.
