AGT Contestants Win Golden Buzzer With Spectacular Drone Show

A drone formation creates a colorful pattern above a stage where four people celebrate with raised arms.

'America's Got Talent - Extreme' recently featured Verge Aero, a group of 4 brilliant men who auditioned on the reality show with their excellent drones. Tony, Chris, Anthony & Nils from Philadelphia, PA, had decided to fly 160 drones perfectly choreographed for a drone light show. The shapes that these guys decided to build were equal to about 30-story skyscrapers. The judges, Simon Cowell, Nikki Bella, and Travis Pastrana, were looking forward to a good performance by the fantastic group. There was a brief backstage interview with the team where they gave an overview of how they met each other. Tony, Chris, Anthony had met each other at the electrical and computer engineering department at Rowan University.

What really brought these men together was their mutual passion for drone technology. These three men had dedicated their university life working on codes for the drones. But, after these boys graduated from college, they needed to do something unique, and that was when they found Nils. His background was making different types of entertainment technologies. So, the 4 of them created an organization named Verge Aero. They wanted to create a new kind of light show with a swarm of drones like high-tech fireworks. So, for the past 5 years, they have dedicated their time to building this technology entirely from scratch.

The group had very little money when they came in. So three of them had to move in with their parents. But they were finally ready to show the world how talented they were. At last, the moment came when they would showcase their talent. They were about to perform in front of AGT judges and the fantastic audience that came to view the drone show. The group would create giant shapes in the sky, at least 300 to 350 feet tall. The drone show that these men had planned was huge, bright, and spectacular.

Terry Crews still couldn't believe that the Verge Aero group would be flying 160 of the fantastic drones in the sky with proper choreography. The group wanted to show the people that they could do incredible things like the other contestants. So they took a totally different approach. The Verge Aero group wanted to show everyone that talent comes in various forms. They wanted to showcase their talent around the United States and worldwide. The group had, till now, been funded internally. So winning would definitely help them get the resources to hire more engineers to become a worldwide phenomenon.

Verge Aero was confident they would put on the most significant show that 'America's Got Talent – Extreme' had ever known. The judges could be heard talking to each other and calling the aerial drone-show the nerds' revenge, to which Nicky responded they always win. As the countdown started, the group began the show. It was an absolutely phenomenal work of art. It was by far the most excellent performance AGT had ever witnessed.

With the drones emitting different colored lights in a synchronized manner, the night sky looked breathtaking. They played "A Sky Full of Stars" by Coldplay to enhance the effect to add to the beauty. Everyone, including the judges, was mesmerized by the beautiful shapes created in the night sky. It felt as if several stars were dancing to the music of the fabulous song. It was an outstanding performance by the group. The final shape created was their tribute to the AGT platform that allowed them to showcase their skill. It was a beautiful drone setting that wrote AGT. The look on Simon Cowell said it all. He loved the performance.

The audience and the judges were awestruck by Verge Aero's fantabulous performance. Verge Aero was called on stage as the judges wanted to share their views about the drone-light show. Nikki Bella said, "You guys are absolutely astonishing; I can't even imagine the brainpower of you 4 men that go into that which is so beyond me. When it was done, I just felt myself wanting so much more." Travis Pastrana loved Verge Aero's performance so much that he invited them to create a similar show for his 4th of July party. Finally, Simon Cowell spoke at first about how much he disliked drones. According to him, drones were the most annoying thing on the planet until he saw their performance. He found the group's performance to be sensational. The music mogul who had been a judge of the show for a long time termed their performance as "spectacular." He was so impressed that he wanted to give them a gift and pressed the "Golden Buzzer," making the crowd cheer for them. Tony, Chris, Anthony & Nils received a standing ovation from the judges.
