Actor Dick Van Dyke has been wowing audiences for decades with his hilarious appearances on Broadway, popular television shows, and featured films. He first appeared on the scene in the late ’50s but became famous when he was the star of the Dick Van Dyke show that aired from 1961 till 1966.
Because of his ability to captivate audiences by acting as well as utilizing his fantastic voice, Van Dyke was cast in musical films like Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Dyke went on to win a Grammy for his vocals in Mary Poppins, an Emmy award for The Dick Van Dyke show and a Tony for his performance in the hit Broadway Musical, Bye Bye Birdie. The Vantastix is an acapella group that formed after Van Dyke and the crew met at a coffee shop in Los Angeles. Although the other members of the quartet are much younger than Dick, they all share a love of entertaining audiences of all ages.
The quartet features Dick Van Dyke on lead vocals, Brian Chadima as the Tenor, Eric Bradley as an overall singer, and Mike Mendyke as the bass. This fantastic ensemble has performed at charity events as well as produced their own children’s album entitled ‘Put on a Happy Face.’

Their performances are incredibly entertaining, but this chorus has been known to entertain audiences in even the most unusual spots. Recently, the group was at Denny’s restaurant, having breakfast, and amazed the patrons with a version of “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.”
The adoring fans of this event are seen capturing every moment on video. Although impressive to the onlookers, it was the smiles on the group themselves that lit up the room. They enjoyed entertaining the guests.

“Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” is the most famous song for the musical film of the same name. This hit was released in 1968. The lyrics are about an old car that had been refurbished and also had special powers, including the ability to love its passengers. The anthem went on to be nominated for an Academy Award.
Actor, singer, and comedian, Dick Van Dyke, is older than most that still perform in the Los Angeles area, but his charm and appeal are always amazing. The Vantastix is another successful venture for this incredible man.
