Don’t you just love Christmas decorations in public places? Some of these setups are really something. I was walking the other day by Central Park, and all I can say is, there’s nothing like Christmas in New York City or is it? Don’t get me wrong, I love NYC but there are many other places that get Christmas decorations on point and up with the best of them.
It doesn’t matter what city you live in, all you need to do is to go to that city’s landmarks to get some inspiration to come up with your own great decoration. I always imagined how famous people would decorate their home at this time of year. Would they go all out, or would they keep it simple?
The other day I saw a couple of videos of how celebrities decorate their home. Now, if you ask me, what I consider most important when decorating one’s home is creativity. Sure, celebrities will probably have deeper pockets than the average Joe, but a creative person can outdo another one’s setup at only a fraction of the cost. If you don’t believe me, just look at your own neighborhood. I’m sure you’ll find at least one of your neighbors that was capable to pull off something sweet using very little resources.
When putting up my own Christmas decorations, I would often go to the Internet for inspiration. I remember seeing how Michelle Obama had decorated the White House during Obama’s presidential mandate. Have you watched that video? There are people who will say it was the best decoration of all the First Ladies, and some other will say that it was too simple.
The way Michelle Obama decorated the White House was simple but very elegant. She was not one for lavish decorations and making the White House appear as if money was not an issue. She would say that she took about decorating the White House just as she would while decorating her own home.
Now, I just watched a video featuring Melania Trump decorating the White House. This video has generated a lot of buzz because of the huge differences in style, taste, and touch. My very first impression was, “Wow, that’s what I call decorating!” This video gathered a lot of comments in very little time. While there are people for and against the current White House decoration, one thing is for sure and that is, it is stunning. Watch the video and see what you take is.
