We recently ran into a post about some of the world’s favorite TV theme songs, and noticed that many of you are just as crazy about the Addams Family as we are! So we thought we’d share one of our favorite moments from the show.
In episode 29 of Season 2, “Lurch’s Grand Romance,” Morticia’s school chum Ms. Trivia comes for a visit. Lurch falls head over heels for her, so Wednesday decides to teach him how to dance in case Ms. Trivia is a swinger.
A swinger is a person that seeks excitement and moves with the latest trends. These include the latest dance trends.
The term “swing dance” refers to a group of dances that developed concurrently with jazz music in the 1920s, 30s and 40s. Swing dance is now found globally, with great variety in their preferences for particular dances.
Wednesday puts the record on and tells Lurch that she is going to teach him the latest trend in dancing. During her version of a dance called “The Drew,” Wednesday shows that she knows how to boogie and Lurch isn’t so bad at it himself!
