The white moose is a rare sighting to come across. Hans Nilsson had luck on his side when he came across a full-grown white male moose crossing the river in Varmland county in Sweden.
As if that wasn’t enough, the moose was majestically walking toward his camera, so he also ended up getting a perfect shot, more like getting up-close and personal with a rare species.
The footage was captured in Varmland, which is known to be home to several white moose. However, the number has drastically reduced with less than 100 white moose left in the area.

Specialists acknowledge the danger this species is facing, especially from trophy hunters, thus calling for the protection of the rare white moose.
You’d be relieved to learn that in Varmland county, the white moose is a protected species. Tourists flock to the area so that they can see the rare animal in its natural habitat.
Nilsson even compared seeing the beautiful white moose to seeing a leopard in Africa. Well, we couldn’t agree more especially considering the fact that he had been searching for three years.
With more than a million views, most of the commenters couldn’t conceal how fascinated they were with the majestic beauty. We can only hope that the authorities continue protecting the rare species.
