For years, the owner of the YouTube channel “ChooChoo’s Story” has shared his journey to connect with the local chipmunks. And what better way to get through to a chipmunk than food?

In his videos, the kind animal lover gave them slices of watermelon, tasty nuts and mealworms to the chipmunks. In return, the tiny creatures gave the man an undeniably meaningful gift: their trust.

So, when the man walked through the forest and discovered his chipmunk friend, Wally, the little one stayed where she was. She even stayed put when the man knelt down beside her.

Wally let the man give her a “chin greeting” and pet her head, but since he did not have any food, Wally scurried off into the forest. As she loped away, the man promised to return with a treat for his chipmunk companion.

When he returned to the forest, Wally was waiting for the man on the same rock she had been on when he first found her. This time Wally was more receptive to pets because she had come prepared with snacks from her home: two peanuts and a seed.

But before the curious chipmunk could head back into the forest to forage for more treats, the man shared his stash of snacks. Watch this wild animal’s stunning reaction to her friend’s gift.
