Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real is sometimes referred to as POTR. The band played their first show in 2008 and has released multiple albums since then. Lukas Nelson, the lead singer with the beautiful voice, was born into a musical family.

Lukas is, in fact, the son of the most famous country singers in history. His dad is the iconic singer, actor, and activist Willie Nelson. The 88-year old music legend still makes music to this very day.

In 2009 the band did a nine-show tour opening for Willie Nelson, and after that, they toured with the legendary BB King for a couple of weeks. This meant great exposure for the band and laid the foundations for their future.

Since 2015, Promise of the Real has been the regular backing band for famous Canadian singer Neil Young. The talented band also recorded four albums with the multiple-Grammy Award winner.
